Final Oscar Nomination Predictions

The home stretch. On the eve of the Oscar nominations being announced, and nearly all of the major precursor awards out of the way, the Oscar race has certainly taken a much clearer shape. The Artist is a pretty safe bet to win Best Picture. Though if it is knocked-off the top spot, it may very well be The Descendants collecting top prize in an upset. Best Director could be a toss-up. Michel Hazanavicius and Martin Scorsese have each taken home one major precursor award for their directing efforts for The Artist and Hugo. George Clooney practically has the Oscar for Best Actor for The Descendants and Best Actress is a two woman race between Viola Davis for The Help and Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady. Christopher Plummer and Octavia Spencer seem to have Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress locked-up for their roles in Beginners and The Help.  Click the statue for the final predictions.
