Nick is a hardworking guy trying to impress his boss into giving him a big promotion. Unfortunately his boss is a total asshole who looks down on him. Dale is a dental assistant who is very in love with his fiancé. Unfortunately his boss is a man-eating, raunchy pervert. Kurt loves his job and loves his boss. Unfortunately his boss dies and his cokehead son takes over the company. These are the problems of three friends. All of them hate their boss and resort to looking into a murder consultant to find ways to kill them. Of course, things don’t go exactly as planned. This movie boasts an all star cast and brings some all star laughs. It’s pretty much nonstop laughing from beginning to end. The three leads were all excellent carrying the movie into “great comedy” territory.

There’s not a lot of range shown by the three leads. Have you ever seen Jason Bateman, Charlie Day or Jason Sudeikis in anything else? Then you’ll know exactly how they act here. Bateman plays Nick as the sarcastic push over. Kevin Spacey plays his boss who totally shits all over him and think he’s the greatest gift to the business world. Day plays Dale, an awkward and whiney guy, who is being sexually harassed by his hot female boss. Doesn’t sound like a problem but Day is completely in love with his fiancé and put into an odd situation. Jennifer Aniston looks amazing as his boss, and the things that come out of her mouth are not something you’d hear on Friends. Sudeikis plays Kurt, a guy comfortable with his job until Colin Farrell takes over and runs in straight into the ground. Sudeikis is pretty much the same character he was in Hall Pass. Farrell in a totally different role and pretty damn funny. Coked out of his mind for the entire movie. The only other main character, but with a small amount of screen time, is Jamie Foxx as Motherfucker Jones. Yup, that’s his name. The guys go to a bar in a bad neighborhood thinking they can find someone to kill their bosses, and Jones pretty much cons them into taking his advice. A funny role (probably because it’s small) for Foxx.

This is the kind of movie where you might need to see it twice. The laughs were so loud in the theater that I might have missed some additional jokes. While the story isn’t anything special, the cast makes this movie what it is. Great chemistry together and big names to go along with great characters. I don’t think Jennifer Aniston has ever been hotter. Maybe her dirty mouth spiced her up after several stale rom-coms. All I know is I’d bend her over a barrel and show her the 50 states. I think that’s from a movie, right? Anyway, I was happy with how every single character turned out, was not let down in the least. When comparing to big name comedies of recent times like The Hangover, it’s not quite at that level. Like I said, the story isn’t anything special until a couple twists and turns in the end. But it’s definitely one of the better comedies of the last 5 years. I laughed from beginning to end, was never bored, and even considered seeing it again. Director Seth Gordon is only known for his documentary The King of Kong and his Vince Vaughn comedy Four Christmases. But after this, expect his name to be tossed around for some more high profile comedy projects. I’m proud to announce this baby as a MADE movie. STAMP IT!

haha I was actually thinking about seeing it again in theaters too, I probably will at some point…so many great lines and probably the best cast for a comedy since Tropic Thunder, Charlie Day definitely steals the show by the end…I also can’t wait for an extended gag reel on the dvd release…every comedy should have outtakes in the end credits…loved it.
