Miss March, written, directed and starring Zach Cregger and Trevor Moore, two members of the comedy group ‘The Whitest Kids U’Know’, is a road trip sex comedy about two friends traveling to the Playboy mansion. This is one of those guilty pleasure movies, where the jokes are ridiculous and raunchy but you can’t help but laugh out loud and have fun while watching.
Eugene (Zach Cregger) and Tucker (Trevor Moore) are best friends in high school. Tucker is obsessed with girls and Playboy magazines, while Eugene believes in abstinence. Eugene’s girlfriend (Raquel Alessi), however, thinks she’s ready to go all the way. He reluctantly agrees to have sex with her on prom night. When the night finally arrives, Eugene gets understandably nervous. Tucker remedies this by getting his friend super drunk, which results in Eugene accidentally falling down a flight of stairs, putting him in a coma for four years. Eventually, he wakes up to realize that the world that he knew is gone, and his girlfriend has become a Playboy bunny. With the help of Tucker, he decides to embark on a cross-country road trip and get back the girl of his dreams.
I must say this movie was a pleasant surprise. Going into this I didn’t expect anything new from the genre just another slapstick dumb sex comedy, but these guys are actually really funny. Their writing style is ridiculous but it works. This movie has everything from epileptic blowjobs, to sex craved lesbians, to crazed firefighters. There are so many random things happening to these two guys, which makes it very entertaining to watch.
The two main guys are half decent actors, the writing is so ridiculous that they don’t really need to be serious actors. Tucker, the taller of the two and the one who resembles Ace Ventura, was definitely the funnier character. His outlook on life and chicks in the movie is hilarious, the other actor just follows along being serious most of the time and he starts to get a little annoying towards the end. The funniest character had to be their rapper friend Horsedick.mpeg, yes that’s Horsedick.mpeg (great name) played by the hilarious Craig Robinson (the black dude from The Office, everyone should definitely know this guys name by now). He steals every scene that he is in and makes for some of the best laugh out loud moments.
So overall, Miss March is a very funny little movie that everyone should check out in theaters. I know I’ll be taking notice of the comedy team ‘The Whitest Kid U’Know’ and will be checking out their television show on IFC. Their first feature film is definitely a success but not quite MADE, hopefully they gain some popularity and get another chance at making a great comedy.
